		<description>&lt;p&gt;It does make sense to play it safe and embrace what we know will work. These other open protocols and standards are really the next way of the web but it is so true that if making a consumer service, as some of us are, then it may be smarter to hold back a bit and wait.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That being said, I&#039;m of the mentality that we should embrace and innovate by encouraging these open standards in order to push the web forward &lt;em&gt;sooner&lt;/em&gt; rather than later.&lt;/p&gt;

		<description>&lt;p&gt;We were just talking about the same problems earlier this week, Zach -- funny, I think some &#039;they&#039; is creating all these alternatives to slow us all down!  For now, we&#039;re taking the mindset that we&#039;ll focus on what we&#039;re sure of and defer decisions about the evolving platforms (facebook, opensocial, openid) until we reach that same level of certainty -- know that isn&#039;t much help, but for the sake of positive momentum, it helps us to sleep easier at night and still actively make a lot of decisions.  Little of this prevents us from making one of those decisions later (FB, OS, etc.), of course.&lt;/p&gt;
